These are fantastic!  I have been to every place in the photos with the exception of the two English shore villages.  I love these types of comparisons.  The first photo doesn't seem to want to compare???

 

When you try to do these in the USA, there is not much to compare.  You are looking for a very regal Victorian brick building and the spot is  now a convenience store with Spanish signs.  Houston esp. still has no real appreciation for history or heritage.
